Champagne Gosset

CHAMPAGNE GOSSETFamily continuity precedes here. Today, Jean-Pierre Cointreau, in addition president of the National union of the liquor producers, take up his duties within the various entities of family Groupe and intend to undertake a perennial development of these two companies, Champagne Gosset and Cognac Frapin. For the history, the Gosset Champagne, oldest Wine House in Champagne: Ay 1584, was acquired by the family group Renaud-Cointreau (Frapin Winegrowing, in Cognac) in 1993. Side anecdote, let us stress that the traditional practice of stopping cork and fastening is maintained on certain large bottles, during ageing on slats. The “Gosset style” is thus specific to an art of living which, for more than 4 centuries, has been transmitted from generation to generation, combining a solid good sense with the elegance of the heart and spirit. It is a style resulting from an exceptional friable limestone soil supporting the optimal development of the vine and from a know-how to no one another similar. Jean-Pierre Mareigner, cellar master with the same production line team since years, thus perennializes the know-how and the style of Gosset. Dynamic house, resolutely turned towards the future, because, after having acquired vines in 100% Grand cru, the surface of production of Gosset Champagne extended by repurchasing a ground being next to the traditional site. Creation, in 1995, of the prestige cuvée Gosset Celebris will have been the point of organ of this will to improve the spectacular quality of way. Regarded as one returned with the history and the various generations of the Gosset family and composed exclusively of Grand crus of Chardonnay of the Côte des Blancs and Pinot noir of the Montagne de Reims, and the Grande vallée de la Marne (Aÿ), this vintage is the floret of the house. Discover Grande Réserve of a great amplitude, a remarkable smoothness and very typified by its soil of exception, dense, a powerful Champagne, very robust but very distinguished at the same time, which requires a rich kitchen, sauce dishes or game birds. Grand Rosé brut is exceptional, resulting from Chardonnay (56%) and the Pinot noir (36%) to which one adds a wine of red Coteaux Champenois (Bouzy and Ambonnay). It is what explains this complex nose where the blackberry joins raspberry, a mouth intense and refined at the same time, a great champagne to be led to spiced mets or shellfish. Their Champagne Grand Millésime 1999 blend of 56% Chardonnay Grands Crus and 44% Pinot noir Premiers and Grands Crus, this elegant and dense vintage is distinguished, with the nuances of white flowers, of citrus fruits and brioche, superb Champagne of slow evolution, a great subtlety, combining structure and smoothness, mouthfull, at the same time carnal and of a large smoothness, complex and always elegant.
