Fixin Domaine Pierre Gelin

The GELIN winegrowing is a family property of a dozen hectares on the communes of Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin. The property created in 1925 by Pierre Gelin is now exploited by Stéphen GELIN and his wife assisted by their Pierre-Emmanuel son who integrated the company in September 2000. Types of wines: Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, Bourgogne aligoté, Bourgogne red, Fixin 1ers crus Les Hervelets, Les Arvelets and the Clos Napoléon (Monopole), Gevrey Chambertin “Clos de Meixvelles” (monopole), Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru Clos Prieur et Chambertin Clos de Bèze. The methods of culture are traditional, the limited outputs and the manual grape harvest. After a maturing out of barrels of 22/24 month old oak, the wines are bottled at the property. The Fixin Premier Cru Clos Napoléon 2004 is fleshy, powerful, with very structured tannins, the nose prevailed by ripe blackcurrant, the violet and the humus, of spiced and persistent mouth, a wine which has powerful and very delicate tannins at the same time, of a great balance, of guard. The 2004 follow, with these subtle connotations of morello cherry and humus, which associates powerfull and distinction in mouth, matured well, with tannins present and supple at the same time, to lead to a kitchen raised well like a navarin of lamb. Typified, the Chambertin Clos de Bézé Grand Cru 2003 is scented (undergrowth and bilberry notes), traditional, a wine which associates color and matter, of molten and rich mouth, of guard. Excellent Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Prieur 2005, of nice garnet-red dress vivid, with the intense and subtle nose at the same time (currant, cherry, humus), with silky tannins like this Fixin Premier Cru Les Hervelets 2005, of color crimson, with the nose prevailed by the red fruits with core, with this very specific spiced final, a wine of dense mouth.

Crémant de Loire Domaine de la Paleine

The 32 ha of the vineyard are mainly planted Chenin and Cabernet franc and its soil are argilo-limestone। Under the winegrowing, 1,5 km of galleries dug in micaceous chalk. There, with 12°C, open out quietly, safe from the light, the wines of Paleine. The vines are enherbées in order to encourage the vine to plunge to deepest of the tuffeau. This single calcareous rock is a genuine sponge, it absorbs water excesses the winter to restore them parsimoniously when the vine needs some. It is from there that the typicity comes from the wines of the winegrowing of Paleine. Structured but supple and fruity wines. In order to go even further in the expression of the soil, the use of products of synthesis is extremely limited. The vintage is carried out to the 2/3 manually and is carried out by sort successive for the white. Patrick Nivelleau vinifies out of thermobabbited tanks and the maturing is done to some extent in barrels of oak according to the vintages. The remarkable Chenin type of vine is expressed with wish and produces here dry white great wines with the fresh fruit aromas, flowers and of hazel nut, like of Saumur brut. The domaine de la Paleine belongs to these rare structures with prunes human to work out itself its traditional methods and to let them refine itself on slats during 3 years. Superb Saumur rouge Moulin des Quints 2005, with ripe and firm tannins at the same time, the complex and subtle nose prevailed by the macerated fruits and the humus, ideal on a duck. The Saumur blanc Domaine Molto Vivace 2006, with dress pale, brilliant and limpid, very pleasant, associates freshness with elegance, of a nice aromatic complexity where nuances of lemon are found. There is also this astonishing Saumur blanc matured out of barrels Pamina 2001, richly having a nice bouquet, all in roundness, of fruity mouth, tender and robust at the same time, combining savor and distinction. The Saumur blanc Multa Paucis 2004, with the flowered bouquet, with these spice and almond notes, combining suppleness and structure, a powerful wine, of a long final. After, the Saumur rouge La Paleine cuvée de Printemps 2007, ideal on grills and let us rillons them, this Coteaux de Saumur 2005, with the intense dress, a full wine with the nose, which combines structure and distinction, with these quite specific ripe citrus fruits and toast notes. Beautiful Crémant de Loire brut, of foam light, with the nose of peach, firm and suave, very delicate, persistent, all in harmony. The Saumur brut rosé is tasty, very quite well-balanced, of delicate and persistent foam, of a beautiful fullness in mouth, all into fruity and smoothness, with the aromas of pink and raspberry, to open on a fruit tart.
