Crémant de Loire Domaine de la Paleine

The 32 ha of the vineyard are mainly planted Chenin and Cabernet franc and its soil are argilo-limestone। Under the winegrowing, 1,5 km of galleries dug in micaceous chalk. There, with 12°C, open out quietly, safe from the light, the wines of Paleine. The vines are enherbées in order to encourage the vine to plunge to deepest of the tuffeau. This single calcareous rock is a genuine sponge, it absorbs water excesses the winter to restore them parsimoniously when the vine needs some. It is from there that the typicity comes from the wines of the winegrowing of Paleine. Structured but supple and fruity wines. In order to go even further in the expression of the soil, the use of products of synthesis is extremely limited. The vintage is carried out to the 2/3 manually and is carried out by sort successive for the white. Patrick Nivelleau vinifies out of thermobabbited tanks and the maturing is done to some extent in barrels of oak according to the vintages. The remarkable Chenin type of vine is expressed with wish and produces here dry white great wines with the fresh fruit aromas, flowers and of hazel nut, like of Saumur brut. The domaine de la Paleine belongs to these rare structures with prunes human to work out itself its traditional methods and to let them refine itself on slats during 3 years. Superb Saumur rouge Moulin des Quints 2005, with ripe and firm tannins at the same time, the complex and subtle nose prevailed by the macerated fruits and the humus, ideal on a duck. The Saumur blanc Domaine Molto Vivace 2006, with dress pale, brilliant and limpid, very pleasant, associates freshness with elegance, of a nice aromatic complexity where nuances of lemon are found. There is also this astonishing Saumur blanc matured out of barrels Pamina 2001, richly having a nice bouquet, all in roundness, of fruity mouth, tender and robust at the same time, combining savor and distinction. The Saumur blanc Multa Paucis 2004, with the flowered bouquet, with these spice and almond notes, combining suppleness and structure, a powerful wine, of a long final. After, the Saumur rouge La Paleine cuvée de Printemps 2007, ideal on grills and let us rillons them, this Coteaux de Saumur 2005, with the intense dress, a full wine with the nose, which combines structure and distinction, with these quite specific ripe citrus fruits and toast notes. Beautiful Crémant de Loire brut, of foam light, with the nose of peach, firm and suave, very delicate, persistent, all in harmony. The Saumur brut rosé is tasty, very quite well-balanced, of delicate and persistent foam, of a beautiful fullness in mouth, all into fruity and smoothness, with the aromas of pink and raspberry, to open on a fruit tart.

Cave de Rasteau-Ortas

Created in 1925, the Cave de Rasteau is one of the oldest cellars of the Côtes-du-Rhône wines। The Cellar owes its notoriety with the wines Doux Naturels thanks to Grenache black, type of vine king of the appellation. Misant always on Grenache, but by adding Syrah et Mourvèdre, the Cellar produces today dry red wines recognized and appreciated in the whole world. Chinon Domaine Gouron

Founded in 1946 by René Gouron, the DOMAINE will develop with the support of his Jacky son until in the Eighties। From now on, they are the little children LAURENT and STEPHANE which vinify and market together the 28 hectares which account the family property. Classified in Appellation CHINON Contrôlée le DOMAINE GOURON is parcelled out in many pieces: argilo-limestone and argilo-siliceous, on the slopes and gravels interfered sands, in plain. This diversity of grounds made it possible to create various vintages emphasizing the expression, fruity in plain and robust on the slopes. His father used only a tiny part of his harvest for making his Champagne for a few friends and clients, the rest of the grapes being sold to traders. In Autumn 1982, Daniel decided to produce his own Champagne, with the assistance of his wife, and they registered their present trademark, 'Champagne Laurent-Gabriel'. A family estate of 21 hectares, including some parcels of vines of more than 80 years old, run by two sons, Gérard and Bernard, who combine traditional practices with the modern techniques they have learned in legendary wine-growing areas: Beaune, Macon and Bordeaux. The estate is planted on the best hillsides overlooking the Loire, with very representative soils of the region: hard limestone, flinty clay, sandy terraces and Kimmeridgian marl, with each type of soil contributing its own qualities and creating a wine which has very particular characteristics on a terroir which does not. Their Pouilly-Fumé Cuvée Silex is quite superb, combining complexity and finesse, with a subtle nose of notes of honey, flowers and spices. The mouth is very marked by the soils, giving it a mineral taste and great freshness. It is a racy, very well-balanced, powerful, ample wine with very good development. Clos du Notaire

We are immeditely charmed by the location of the vineyard, set above the confluent of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, a strategic position with an excellent micro-climate for the vines planted on hillsides with a clay-limestone sub-soil and lots of gravel. The 20 hectares of vines on this family estate are managed using the "reasonable pest-control" approach. 1/3 of the vines are over 30 years old and some plots even reach the venerable age of 50 years old. The grapes produced here are rich in aromas, and Richard Charbonnier, a skilled wine-maker, masters the production process. The wines are of great quality, have excellent balance and are seductive, flavoursome and full of charm. This know-how is much appreciated among the knowledgeable clientele and has won many medals and the praises of the various wine guides. Touraine Domaine de La Renaudie

They have been vine-growers for three generations; the great-grandfather, Albert Denis, set up the Domaine de la Renaudie in 1928. Since 1982, Bruno Denis has been running the estate. He is a perfectionist, thoroughly committed to his profession, and since he started making the wines, they have progressed steadily in quality. His wife, Patricia Denis, is a trained oenologist, but mainly deals with sales. The age of the vines (35 years on average) and the poor, shallow soils result in wines for laying down. The winery is a complex of buildings, each with its own specific role in the various stages of winemaking. The main, recently-built vinification winery is set apart and is equipped with stainless-steel vats and all the equipment required to turn grapes into wine and to control temperatures. The storage and ageing cellar has a capacity of 120,000 bottles and is also used to prepare orders, while a former cellar, which has been turned into a client reception, can hold up to 50 people. Several wines are most successful, such as the very fruity Touraine-les-Guinetières, the Touraine-Cabernet, a colourful, rich wine with silky tannins, aromas of raspberry and underwood, and the Tradition, rich and aromatic, with a powerful, lasting nose in which red fruit and spices stand out, a round, well-structured wine which is mellow in the mouth and which has excellent ageing capacity. The Touraine white, very typical of the Sauvignon, is fresh and fruity with characteristic notes of lime and dried fruit, combining roundness and aromatic freshness in the mouth - as does the rosé, Perle de Rosée.

Chateau Redortier

Château Redortier, with 35 hectares of vines in virtually one single stretch, is particularly well placed, standing opposite the prestigious Dentelles de Montmirail. The estate is in the Côtes du Rhône Villages, Beaumes de Venise and Gigondas appellations all at the same time. The land is exceptional: the vines are planted at an altitude of 400m on south-facing hillsides which benefit from clay-limestone soils and a very dry summer season. The estate has kept its family character, with Etienne de Menthon working alongside his wife and their daughter Sabine. Château Redortier used to be a very important fortified castle which defended the principality of Orange. In 1956 Etienne de Menthon, an agronomist, restored the estate to its former condition. To respect the environment and to favour the natural character of the wine, the treatment of vine diseases is subject to reasonable methods. Yields are intentionally controlled at 30 to 35 hl/ha, resulting in quality wines. Harvesting is performed by hand so as not to alter the vines and bunches of grapes, enabling strict sorting procedures. Vinification is traditional, with the white obtained by pressing and the rosé by bleeding. For the reds, vatting varies from 8 to 10 days for the Beaumes de Venise and 15 days for the Gigondas. Pressing is light for all the wines and temperatures are controlled throughout fermentation. The reds spend two winters in vats before being bottled and the wines undergo very little physical treatment, in order to conserve all their aromas and their intrinsic quality. The wines do not mature in wood barrels, as the quality of the soils and vines is sufficient to give them a naturally woody character.

Our house has never ceased in its search for the best possible quality. Today, it is recognised as being one of the best in the whole of the Loire Valley. We have developed a varied approach to communication. Since1992, when Bouvet Ladubay bought back a former part of the company's heritage - 1,800 square metres of buildings, once the stables of an electricity production plant and the company theatre at the end of the last century - our communication policy has been developed around notions of creativity and culture. An art gallery: 3 or 4 exhibitions are held each year in the 800 m2 gallery under the artistic direction of Benoît Lemercier. Literature and Wine: Bouvet Ladubay is also the home of the National Wine and Literature Days. The management team is in charge of organising this national event which includes the awarding of 9 literary prizes and brings together a hundred authors and wine producers around the theme of Hedonism à la Française.
