Bordeaux Supérieur Château Perayne

The estate of Château Perayne is located 50 km south-east from Bordeaux and covers 24 hectares, including 20 hectares of vines, ideally situated on the slopes of hills surrounding the Garonne River. The limestone-clay soils, with their five million year old gravels, combined with the mild oceanic climate, give wines that are full of colour, well structured and rich in tannins. The present owners, Henri and Monique Luddecke, acquired the property in 1994 and have since worked hard to bring Château Perayne, the most important winegrowing estate in Saint André du Bois in the 19th century, back to its former glory. At the beginning, Henri was regarded as an outsider by the neighbouring wine-making community where the vineyards and the know-how are handed over from generation to generation within the family and where traditions prevail. Henri had no such experience and consequently no prejudice as to the manner of working his vines and wines and was open to innovative ideas. His aim is to offer to his customers an unforgettable gustatory sensation. His decision to try a new elastomer cork which has never been used in the area before was revolutionary and reveals a bit more his rebellious spirit! And his choice has proved excellent as it offers to you a nectar totally exempt of the cork taste, so frustrating for both the producer and the customer. This elegant cork has been manufactured by Guala Seal and the Massachussetts Institute of Technology in Boston and all our new vintages are sold with it. The Luddeckes’ efforts to produce quality wines, rich and complex, are rewarded with numerous medals and distinctions in both National and International competitions. Discover Bordeaux Supérieur 2004 aged in oak (rewarded with a Prestige Trophy at the Citadelles du Vin 2007 and a Silver Medal in the Independent Wine-makers National Competition 2007) sombre ruby coloured, with its smoky, roasted coffee aromas mixed with intense fruity fragrances. Full-bodied, it develops a ripe black fruits taste with a smoky touch. Tannins are smooth and silky with a still firm finish that bears an evident potential for keeping. Try Bordeaux Supérieur 2003 aged in oak (a Silver Medal at the International Vinalies 2006 and a Bronze Medal by Decanter World Wine Awards 2006) with its aromas of black stone fruits and cherry melted with woody notes and vanilla. The Bordeaux Supérieur 2005 aged in oak (Gold Medal at Brussels World competition 2008) charms with its dark red shiny colour and a complex nose, it is rich and fat bodied with a large pallet of aromatic nuances. Taste the lovely fruity Bordeaux Rose 2007. Enjoy the Bordeaux White Dry 2006 Apollo’s Vintage (Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge of Bourg 2008), with elegant nuances of brioche, vanilla and crystallised citrus. Try the excellent Côtes de Bordeaux Saint-Macaire Sweet 2003 (rewarded with a Gold medal at the international Wine Challenge at Blaye-Bourg 2005 and a Bronze medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2006) which goes perfectly with fois gras, blue cheese and desserts and reveals exquisite fragrances of apricot, honey and acacia. All these wines profit of an excellent quality-price-pleasure ratio.

Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Clos du Vigneau

Clos du Vigneau is a family estate located in Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil. Six generations of Jamet winemakers have been here since 1820. The soils are composed of sand and pebbles called ³graviers², a type of soil which very quickly heats up and makes for supple, light, fruity wines. The 22 hectares of vines are of the Cabernet Franc variety. The average yield is intentionally limited to 55 hectolitres per hectare, so as to improve the intrinsic quality of the wines. Manual harvesting methods allow the grapes to be picked quickly and at optimum ripeness. Fermentation is carried out in modern, temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, offering a guarantee of irreproachable hygiene. The wine stays there for 3 to 5 months, then goes down to the cellar, where it matures at its own speed in wooden casks providing perfect oxygenation. The wines have a fine, brilliant ruby-red colour, the aromas of raspberry are subtle and complex, the wines elegant and supple, harmonious and perfectly balanced. These are clean, honest wines with good ageing potential.

Armagnac Dartigalongue

It is in 1838 pennies Louis Philippe, that Pascal DARTIGALONGUE originating in Saint Lannes close to Madiran settled in Nogaro in the Gers and founded its House of trade of Armagnac which is still ours. In 1969, Pierre Dartigalongue installed its distilling with Salles d ' Armagnac. Since, five generations followed one another to ensure and perennialize “the oldest house of the Armagnac”. Producer, distiller and stockbreeder, installed in the area of best believed of this brandy seven times centenary, Dartigalongue is specialized in the very old Bas Armagnacs, products selected and matured according to the ancestral tradition. It offers this single Eau de Vie, declined in credits or vintages, in luxurious and personalized presentations. The house holds in its old original wine storehouses a very important range of old Armagnacs Millésimés, growing old and improving in barrels in oak of the country under the permanent control of the Master of wine storehouse which supervises the evolution and carries out of it various handling of transfer and ventilation. In addition, following meticulous research and tastings, certain vintages are assembled in order to create “special vintages” giving rise to traditional assemblies such V.S.O.P., OUT OF OLD, or to “15 YEARS of OLD”,” 25 YEARS”…, thus to celebrate the 170ème birthday of the creation of the house an exceptional assembly of 70% of 1974 and 30% of 1976, was carried out under the denomination Cuvée Louis-Philippe 42%,70 Cl. (Carafe) (king of the French in 1838). Remarkable Bas-Armagnac cuvée Louis-Philippe (70% of 1974 and 30% of 1976), with the nuances of rancio and spices, very floral, at the same time dry and suave, very persistent with the palate. Also discover this 25 years Bas-Armagnac, assembly of several Armagnac of which young person is at least 25 years old, elegant, with these cocoa and dry fig connotations, slightly fume, of a great consistency in mouth, very scented (nut, prune), of a long final.

Côtes-de-Provence Domaine de la Sanglière

All starts in 1980 when François Devictor, Agricultural engineer decides to settle in Provence to produce great wines there. Its choice is made on the Domaine de La Sanglière located in seaside in the exceptional classified site of the Fort de Brégançon. On a surface of 42 ha, all is then implemented for an optimal quality: levellings, plantations and construction of a cellar, the production of white, rosy and red in appellation Côtes de Provence can then trade. In the line of the work of their father, it is now one 2nd generation of vine growers, Rémy and Olivier Devictor which direct the winegrowing. The site is protected by the academy from the littoral. They are currently 20 ha which is in production. Very attractive Special Coast-of-Provence white fermented 2007 (the grapes are collected the night to preserve their freshness), which combines nervousness and fleshy, with the nose envoûtant and persistent, marked by these notes of white flowers, vinified very well, of persistent mouth with a molten and particularly tasty final. The Côtes-de-Provence rouge cuvée Spéciale 2007 (assembly of the 3 type of vines, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, with a majority of Syrah) is a wine marked by spice notes to prevailing of ripe red fruits and violet, of a beautiful garnet-red color crimson, combining structure and suppleness in mouth. Beautiful Côtes-de-Provence cuvée Prestige rosé 2007, of a very delicate color, a very delicate, dry and fleshy wine at the same time, with a beautiful pink robe delicate fresh fruit peony and aromas which develop with the palate much elegance, mouthfull. At their sides, this Côtes-de-Provence rosé cuvée S 2007, with the fruity concentrate, with nuances of peach, of apricot and a spiced note, a wine which requires a refined kitchen. Still taste red Coast-of-Provence range S 2006, with the nose prevailed by currant and of the subtly spiced scents, of powerful and persistent mouth.

Buzet Château de Gueyze

Created in 1953, the cave des Vignerons de Buzet emanates from the will of the wine growers to give again the gloss of the centuries spent to their wine. The vineyard of Buzet reaches, in 1973, under Appellation Contrôlée. The Sucker proposes to you this Buzet Château de Gueyze 2005 generous, firm, with prevailing of prune, cinnamon, beautiful dress crimson, combining a tannic smoothness with a persistent roundness and the Buzet rouge La Tuque de Gueyze 2005. Beautiful Château de Padère, quite robust, a wine of powerful mouth, with ripe raspberry aromas, very round, quite fleshy, very scented. Excellent Domaine de Brazalem 2005, combining a tannic smoothness with a roundness in persistent mouth, of a very nice final with these notes of smoked and strawberry of wood surmûrie, good guard like this Château Bouchet 2004, very traditional, of garnet-red color vivid, all in richness and smoothness, a wine of powerful and fleshy mouth, scented (morello cherry, humus…), with round and powerful tannins at the same time. The Baron d' Ardeuil Vieilles Vignes 2005, of robe garnet shining, very scented (ripe, spices…), of good structure, mouthfull. Buzet Domaine of the Cross Vines 2003 is rich color as out of matter, powerful, with tannins supple but quite present, a beautiful length, and which continues its very beautiful evolution. The Grande vintage Reserves 2003 is of powerful and dense mouth, with quite molten tannins, the complex bouquet where intermingle with the notes of red small fruits good ripe and liquorice.

Corbières Château du Grand-Caumont

There existed already at the time Roman under the name of “Villa Manzanetto ”. It is into 1906 that Louis Rigal founder of famous Roquefort Rigal buys it then transmits it to his Louis son, his wife Florence Rigal takes over with beginning of the year 80. His Laurence daughter joined it in 2003 and ensures since the management of the winegrowing. Corbières AOC since 1985, it is one of the florets of Corbières. Since about thirty year, efforts important were carried out in order to modernize the buildings, to diversify the planted grape varieties, to optimize the cultures, to renovate the cellar, to refine the wine makings. The wines of château du Grand Caumont combine rigor and passion and are rewarded in many competitions and are praised in many reviews throughout the world. 2005 and 2007 are very aromatic vintages, very fruity, combining body, roundness, suppleness and elegance. They present notes of red small fruits and black small fruits (blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry), with peppered nuances, spices and of scrub. Here philosophy is: best quality at the best price, whatever the vintage, its complexity, its level of price. Wines pleasures, easy to taste and match to the course.
